Meet Brian… a young redbone coonhound currently being fostered in Maine. We believe him to be approximate 1 year old. Brian still has a lot of puppy in him and loves to run and play, but is also extremely sweet and affectionate. He gets along well with other dogs… but due to his rambunctious nature would do best with other dogs of a similar size. We are not sure how he is with cats, but the shelter in WV that he came from reports that Brian walked past cats quietly.
Brian is neutered, fully vaccinated, and on heartworm and tick prevention.
Notes from his foster family – “The amazing thing about Brian – people meet him and fall for him. He is extremely photogenic, and really great. He’s a sweetheart and I don’t think he will have any difficulty finding a home. Brian clearly lived with a family before. Our guess is he was adopted, trained not to “go” in the house. He likes being outside, but he likes knowing there is a human nearby. We have three couches in the living room, and all of the dogs are welcome wherever they want to be. He has a preference, and has at one time or another slept peacefully next to each of the other four.”
“He loves other dogs, so it would be best if he had a comparable-sized companion with whom he can dance. His spirit is strong – he genuinely loves life.
He does chew stacked wood – will knock a log off, perhaps for an after-dinner toothpick, and chew away if his human is not quickly observant. He loves to run in his fenced area. He loves having his tummy rubbed, if he initiates it. He loves mealtime. He loves his humans”
